The Devonport Strikers are looking for a suitably trained and experienced individual to join their team as Physical Performance Assistant.
Reporting to the Physical Performance Manager, this role will be responsible for monitoring and supervising players in the National Premier League NPL TAS squad. The primary focus will be to assist with the implementation of warm-up and cool-down processes, physical conditioning, injury management and sports trainer duties for all NPL players, as well as provide input to the physical preparation program.
Physical Performance Assistant | Role Profile
Reporting to the Physical Performance Manager, this role will be responsible for the implementation an assistance of sport science, strength and conditioning, injury rehabilitation and sports trainer duties for players in the NPL Tasmania squad. The primary focus will be to assist with the implementation of warm‐up and cool‐down processes, sports trainer duties, physical conditioning, and injury management of all NPL players, as well as provide input to the physical preparation program. Commitments will be flexible and tailored to the individual but will typically require a minimum of 2 evenings a week (5:30 – 8:30pm) to facilitate training session with the NPL Players, with the option to expand to a third training sessions and/or match day.
To be considered for the role, candidates must have the following essential skills and experience:
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Completed or undertaking a Bachelor of Exercise Science (or equivalent)
These desired skills are highly regarded:
- ASCA Level 1 or higher (or completing)
- SMA Sports Trainer certification
- Exposure to designing and implementing athlete development programs and plans
- Certificate III or IV in Personal Training
- Strong background sporting environments (at an elite or high level)
