The Devonport Strikers will return to the field for the second time in 72 hours when they take on the Hobart Zebras at KGV on Monday and winger Max Fitzgerald will get another chance to show off his abilities.
Fitzgerald said it was amazing to be able to put the Strikers through to the next round of the cup and believed the moral among the squad has been the driving factor in the early part of the season.
“It was a great feeling and the fact it is only the first round for the Lakoseljac Cup for us and to get that feeling in the first round when we have the chance to go further in the cup, who knows what can happen because this was a good win,” Fitzgerald said.
“(Kingborough) was a good team and we fought hard and we were just fortunate to get the last goal.”
“It has been a good start overall, we all get along and there has been a really good vibe at the moment and that is why I think we have been doing so well so far.”
