Devonport Strikers coach Rick Coghlan says winning through to the Lakoseljac Cup final for a rematch with 2018 finalists South Hobart was a great reward for his team’s efforts so far this season.
The Strikers secured their passage to the final with a 2-1 victory over University at Olinda Grove on Saturday and South Hobart joined them on Sunday with a 5-2 victory over Olympia at Darcy Street on Sunday.
Coghlan said there had been a lot of emotion among the group following the victory.
“It means everything to the guys because we have worked extremely hard for the last seven months including pre-season,” Coghlan said.
“To reach the final and give the guys a chance to get their first bit of silverware this season is a great reward as a team.”
