A sublime first-half blitz was all Devonport needed to maintain its unbeaten start to the 2019 NPL Tasmania as they breezed by Glenorchy Knights 4-0 at Valley Road on Saturday.
Showing they have quickly adapted to the playing style of new coach Rick Coghlan, the Strikers turned it on in front of their home crowd, opening the scoring in the 12th minute thanks to Eddie Bidwell, who nodded home a header at the far post following a pinpoint cross from Joel Stone.

The lead was doubled eight minutes later when Daniel Syson continued his hot start to the season, scoring his third goal from as many games with a shot from outside box that found the top left corner.

New signing Connor Parke made it onto the scoresheet in the 22nd minute when he found the ball at his feet after a goalmouth scramble and made it 3-0.
